Biodiversity is short for ‘biological diversity’; it means the variety of life. Biodiversity expresses itself at a hierarchy of ascending levels from genes to species, to communities, to ecosystems.
Species biodiversity on the South Wexford Coast may be categorised into;-
- the named species that are qualifying interests of Natura 2000 sites (see menu right), and
- all other species as featured below.
